Meet the Staff

Joanna Adams, Administrative Assistant

I have been with YNOP since January 2010, when I started working just a few hours a week. I had no idea it would turn into the job I have now, but I’m absolutely overjoyed to work with amazing co-workers in such a God-filled environment. I’ve always had a fascination with Christian broadcasting, spending two years studying broadcasting at Pensacola Christian College and also taking an internship at a radio station in Alaska.

The one benefit of Christian broadcasting that I think is so amazing is the fact that God can use it to make a difference in a person’s life. I love people and am reminded daily that none of the things we gain in this life will matter except for the difference we make in a person’s life. It seems as though sometimes I become so caught up in things that really don’t matter at all…kind of reminds me of an old bluegrass song. . “You can’t take it with you when you go. It’ll just be you and God and you’re going to have to show. All those possessions will be left behind on earth. You’ve never seen a U-haul pull behind a hearse. . .”

Lately I have been reminded of how short life is: “For what is your life? It is even a vapour, that appeareth for a little time, and then vanisheth away”-James 4:14. What we do with life to make an eternal difference is the only thing that matters. One pivotal moment that made me realize this was when I received a phone call from a listener who was very upset and distraught. Through a conversation I had with her, I was able to explain to her God’s plan of salvation and by the time the phone conversation was done, she accepted Christ as her Savior.

On a lighter note, a more humorous moment at YNOP came when I thought I could sneak a little bit of coffee into Dave’s hot chocolate. Let me tell you, sneaking coffee into Dave’s hot chocolate is the equivalent of depriving Nick of his coffee. I pray that one day Dave will realize what a blessing God gave us when he gave us coffee.

Outside of work, I am continuously amazed at how God has blessed me.  In October of 2012, I married the love of my life Elliot Adams and I am so thankful to God for a man that is devoted to Him and everything I could have asked for and prayed to find! God amazed us with a beautiful daughter in July 2013—Mabel Elise.

Some of my hobbies include playing the piano, guitar, sign language, coffee, hiking, shooting, ice-skating, snowboarding, cliff-jumping, and my favorite: hunting!! I love being out in God’s creation and am reminded daily of what a beautiful Artist He truly is!
