Earl Houtz, Announcer

earl

Earl Houtz is heard on Wednesday mornings from 6:30 to 9:00, and is the wonderment behind the ‘’Earl-Knows-A-Lot-Of-Stuff’’ contest.  He was born in London, England and attended schools in Havre and Great Falls, graduating from Great Falls High in 1963.  From there it was the University of Montana, followed by serving in the US Army in Vietnam, 1968-69.  The ensuing years included about 20 years in various aspects of the tire business, 4 years as Business Administrator at Flathead Christian School in Kalispell, and then 9 years selling cars in Whitefish.  Earl has been the Business Administrator of the Kalispell Corps of The Salvation Army since February 2003.

He enjoys singing in church choirs, has functioned as a church deacon and as head of Men's Ministries.  An extra-special memory of his was a short-term mission trip to Togo West Africa in 1997.

Earl and Karla met at college, were married in 1966, and have three daughters, eight grandchildren, and one great-grandson.  He enjoys many different styles of music, believes Handel’s Messiah to be the finest music ever penned, but his favorite genre is Southern Gospel.

Earl favorite Bible verses come from the Gospel of John, chapter 8:
‘’And Jesus was left alone, and the woman standing in the midst.  When Jesus had raised Himself up and saw no one but the woman, He said to her, “Woman, where are those accusers of yours? Has no one condemned you?”  She said, “No one, Lord.”
And Jesus said to her, “Neither do I condemn you; go and sin no more.”
