Magazines for Troops based in Lakeside fills a common request by deployed troops, a need for reading material. Postage to serve 153 units is a constant battle – currently running close to $2000 per month. $10.95 will ship a box containing approximately 40 magazines with a variety of titles to remind soldiers that they are not forgotten and to put a smile on their faces! At Volunteers of America-Independence Hall, 20 formerly homeless Veterans are working hard to get back on track and are seeking immediate full-time employment. Colstrip Area Moms Organization (or CAMO), meets at First Baptist Church, 1st and 3rd Wednesdays from 9:15 am - 11:00 am. It is for ANY mother who has children still in the home. (not just moms of preschoolers) Child care is available onsite up to age 6; if care for older kids is needed you MUST call ahead. There is NO membership fee. This group meets as a ministry of First Baptist Church, but is non-denominational in its operation.
