Adopt A Soldier

Adopt a Soldier “Operation Cookie Drop”
Mail them to a soldier for Valentines Day.
Directions are as follows:
Bake a dozen or two of your favorite cookie. Fudge counts too!
FREEZE them in freezer zip lock bags/or better yet in FOOD SAVER BAGS
Include the recipe (in case of food allergies + to share with family at home)
Prepare a USPS FLAT RATE PRIORITY BOX—pickup at post office
by lining with crumpled newspaper (the best insulator).
Prepare the LARGE WHITE CUSTOMS form—pick up at post office
Then just before shipping -put your frozen cookies, recipe,
your note/card in the box, finish packing with crumpled newspaper.
Mail AFTER February 1st *include a self addressed envelope with a piece of paper inside.

If your package is for a woman – please write FEMALE on the upper left corner. Please include AAS = Adopt a Soldier. Always include a self addressed envelope and piece of paper folded inside and your email address. Once a soldier contacts you, he/she will provide their personal mailing and/or email address.
How:
- Send cards and letters
- Send magazines
- Send small care packages
- Pray
Why:
- Soldiers put in very long days -14 hours
- Need monthly encouragement from home all year long.
- There may not be a whole lot of return correspondence because of the jobs they hold.
- Email addresses are encouraged for communication after the initial letter contact.
Other Ways To Help:
- Send Magazines - Anything from Family Fun, Better Homes and Garden, Men's Health, Auto, Hunting, Fishing, Devotionals. (Nothing older than 4 months)
- Send Christian music cds, good wholesome dvd's, devotionals
- Adopt a Box. It costs $9.80 to ship each box. Make checks payable to the U.S.P.S. Mail to Soldiers, PO Box 909, Lakeside, MT 59922.
